Hey everyone, I realize I haven’t updated you lately on what’s happening – so here it goes!
Dominic will be a year and a half in just a few days. It’s crazy to think that he is so old already. He’s growing to be quite big! He’s going to be tall as an adult I think. Taller than me at the very least. He was a giraffe for Halloween and his favorite part of trick or treating was walking up everyone’s front steps – something I normally don’t let him do. He loves music and dancing. Physically he is excelling in every area – working on his big boy steps right now. He is a little chatter box but he only has a few words and a whole host of animal sounds (the puppy noise being his favorite). He loves to read and will bring me books to read to him every day (melts my heart). He is sometimes snuggly but more often he is wiggly. He can have quite the temper on him when he doesn’t want to do something, but he is still pretty easily distracted. He has a ton of teeth and is an excellent eater. He did not adjust well to daylight savings time unfortunately. We are still nursing – I never thought I would go this long initially, but he is still benefitting from it a lot and it is not the right time to stop yet.
Nick is starting a new job on Tuesday. He is looking forward to it and we both feel this will be a positive change for our family.
I am keeping busy with Dominic and also doing some babysitting on the side. I love our weekly trips to the library. We have a new (to us) fridge, which is all nice and organized and that I found on freecycle. My biggest news, however, is that I have an article published in the November edition of Metroparent Magazine. I am quite excited. The article is about homeschooling and I worked very hard on it and it feels great to see my article with my name and byline in print. In terms of being a writer, for me there are few greater feelings than the excitement at seeing yourself published. If you are curious, this is a link to the digital edition. I have two pages starting on page 12.
So that’s all our happenings! Hope you are having a good Sunday!
